About StampGo
StampGo (listed as “Stamp Identifier : StampGo” on the App Store and “Stamp Value Stamp Identifier” on Google Play) is an AI stamp identifier app for iOS and Android that identifies a postage stamp from a photo and shows its country, year, denomination, history and estimated value.
Who makes StampGo
StampGo is built by independent developer Muhammad Waleed. It’s published on the App Store as “Stamp Identifier : StampGo” and on Google Play as “Stamp Value Stamp Identifier”. Version 1.0.9 brought a complete redesign, better stamp scanning, an enhanced database, better pricing and value estimates, and a total value for your collection.
How StampGo identifies a stamp
You take a photo of a stamp, or choose one from your gallery. StampGo uses AI image recognition to match it against a global stamp database, then builds a profile of the issue:
- country of origin, postal system and currency
- year or period of issue
- denomination and face value
- a reference price range and a 1–10 rarity score (Common → Ultra Rare)
- historical and cultural context
It recognizes stamps from the USA, the UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and beyond, and commemoratives, definitives, airmail and thematic issues.
What the value estimate means, and what it doesn’t
The reference price is a typical market range for the identified issue. It is not a certified appraisal. What your particular copy is worth also depends on things a photo can’t always show: centering, gum, faults, the cancellation, and varieties that differ only in perforation gauge or watermark.

Tips for the best result
- Scan one stamp per photo, filling most of the frame.
- Use soft, even light and avoid glare from album pages or plastic mounts.
- Lay the stamp flat on a plain background, face up and square to the camera.
- Photograph the back separately if you want to check for hinge marks or thins.
